In 2016, Republic Act No. 10587—known as the Environmental Planning Act—was fully implemented. It regulated the profession, defined the scope of land and resource management, and set new licensure requirements. That same year, nearly 50 examinees from Bohol passed the boards. On July 28, 2017, the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP) officially chartered the PIEP Bohol Chapter, establishing an official group of professional planners in the province.
Over the following years, the number of environmental planners grew nationwide to champion sustainable development. However, in the post-COVID-19 era, PIEP National fractured into two rival factions. Caught between these divisions and uncertain of future directions, the PIEP Bohol Chapter found itself torn. Despite this instability, the chapter moved forward. On March 7, 2025, during a General Membership Meeting at the Metro Center Hotel, the chapter elected a new set of officers to the Board of Trustees:
• President - Trustee: EnP Ranulfo D. Sepe
• Vice President - Trustee: EnP Maria Noelyn S. Dano
• Secretary - Trustee: EnP Ediliza V. Macalandag
• Deputy Secretary - Trustee: EnP Kathleen T. Lebita
• Treasurer - Trustee: EnP Gilda C. Maniwang
• Auditor - Trustee: EnP Rita Amor M. Narvasa
• Public Relations Officer – Trustee: EnP Rommel T. Gonzales
• Public Relations Officer - Trustee: EnP Jovencia B. Ganub
• Trustee: EnP Francis L. Ellorimo
• Trustee: EnP George S. Isulat
• Trustee: EnP Maximo G. Lomosbog
During the first Board of Trustees meeting, the group discussed transitioning into a relatively independent chapter to avoid relying on then troubled national organization. The board agreed to register a local chapter with the Securities and Exchange Commission. After 14 months of submitting and revising documents, PIEP Bohol Inc. was officially registered with the SEC on July 25, 2026, under Registration No. 2026070261029-01.
