AUGUST 12 - 14
The Provincial Government of Bohol proudly expresses its full support for the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Roadshow: Advancing Nature-Based Solutions for Climate and Disaster-Resilient Planning and Development to be held on August 12–14, 2026 in Bohol.
As the Philippines' first and only UNESCO Global Geopark, Bohol carries the shared responsibility of protecting our unique natural heritage while pursuing sustainable and resilient development. Nature-based Solutions provide a practical and forward-looking approach by working with nature to address climate change, disaster risks, biodiversity loss, and the growing challenges of urbanization. By integrating blue, green, and grey infrastructure, we can build safer communities, strengthen ecosystem services, and secure a better future for present and succeeding generations. This vision is at the heart of the NbS Roadshow, which aims to equip local leaders, planners, engineers, environmental professionals, and the academe with the knowledge and partnerships needed to translate these concepts into concrete local actions.
I commend the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP) – Bohol Chapter together with its partner institutions for spearheading this timely initiative that promotes science-based, climate-responsive, and environmentally sustainable planning. The Provincial Government of Bohol is honored to be part of this collaborative effort in advancing innovative solutions that will benefit our communities and strengthen our resilience.
I likewise encourage all Local Chief Executives, and all concerned stakeholders to actively participate in this Roadshow. Let us seize this opportunity to learn from experts, exchange best practices, and work together in mainstreaming Nature-based Solutions into our local development plans, climate adaptation strategies, and disaster risk reduction initiatives.
Together, let us continue building a resilient, sustainable, and environmentally responsible Bohol—where development thrives in harmony with nature.
