AUGUST 12 - 14
Dear Colleagues, Partners, Bohol Leaders, and Changemakers,
Welcome to the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Roadshow 2026! Over the next three days, this series of conferences and public lectures brings together a diverse community dedicated to shaping a more resilient world. Co-hosted by the Provincial Government of Bohol, Bohol Island State University (BISU), Holy Name University (HNU), University of Bohol (UB), and the National Museum of the Philippines – Bohol (NMP-Bohol), this event convenes local chief executives, legislators, disaster risk reduction officers, environmental planners, engineers, architects, researchers, students, and civil society leaders.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our resource speakers from our other participating organizations:
Global EverGreening Alliance
Healthy Planet Action Philippines
Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP) National Office and the PIEP College of Fellows
Environmental Science for Social Change (ESSC)
Xavier University’s Research Institute for Mindanao Culture (XU-RIMCU), particularly its Climate Change Adaptation, Dispossession and Displacement (CiCADD) Project
University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP)
Your generosity, alongside key support from the Provincial Government of Bohol, the Philippine Red Cross, and our host institutions and co-organizers, brings this PIEP Bohol Chapter initiative to life.
We also express our sincere thanks to the City Government of Tagbilaran, whose City Chorale graces our opening, and extend our deep appreciation to the Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO) and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) for leading the Provincial Government's collaboration with us to make this event a success.
The organic growth of this roadshow reflects a surging, multi-sectoral demand for action-driven discourse. For an organization like PIEP Bohol, cross-sector collaboration makes ambitious work possible—proving that the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.
Amid pressing environmental challenges—from national flood control issues to the unique ecological value of Bohol’s karst landscape—this event serves as both a forum and an incubation space for practical, science-backed spatial strategies. We invite you to engage deeply, share insights, and help turn nature-based solutions into scalable policy and real-world impact.
Warm regards,
Dr. Maria Noelyn S. Dano, EnP.
